Wait for it.36% complete! This was relatively expensive for some really buggy and HORRIBLY inefficient SW. It's now 32GB of 422GB transferred and still shows. Seems I will have to babysit this for hours. Took half the time to reboot the old PC than it does for this application to detect a connection on the new PC. Restarted the old PC but it's been over 10 minutes for the application on the new PC to reconnect and start the transfer again. Its going to take a REALLY long time to transfer, imagine if it was over WiFi.Complains about the connection between the PCs but gives no indication its having issues until it just stops transferring. Shows its writing to HDD at only 700KB/s while loading the Intel core I3-8100 CPU at 38%. Still shows 36% complete with 19GB of 422GB transferred. Took several minutes to detect the PC it was running on- the brand new one!Progress shows 36% complete but only 13GB of 422GB have transferred. This is RIGHT AFTER SUPPLYING A DOWNLOAD KEY FOR THE EXECUTABLE!)SW is extremely slow to start, took 10+minutes to detect I needed a windows update, really? Requires both PCs be connected to the internet (SW just fails to initialize with no error message several times until finally it tells you it needs an internet connection to 'validate' itself.
ZINSTALL RESCUE KIT HOW TO
ZInstall 'Easy migration' is everything but easy.First requires ethernet connection between the two PCs but no info on how to configure. Because they delivered what they advertised! If I have a need for another PC to PC transfer, it will be Zinstall that will get my business.
ZINSTALL RESCUE KIT SOFTWARE
Their software ran to completion without a glitch! During the migration, their% completed stat was spot on and not a constant 36%, as one reviewer mentioned. It worked perfectly in my case, Not once did I have to intervene, once I set my parameters in their opening screens.
ZINSTALL RESCUE KIT PRO
Zinstall all the way!ĭon't know why people could not get 100% satisfactory results from using Zinstall's Migration Pro tool. But I see that it does work, and saves a lot of time and a lot of tears spent on lost programs and files if you do not do this correctly or use a correct tool like this one. At the moment I don't have access to a PC that can run long enough to get the job done in one sitting.Transferred, migrated, they call it different things but it works good, so that is the only thing that matters!I have many programs installed on my computer, and huge number of pictures and pictures folders. And now I have them on my new computer, which really is incredible.I think this is a great program although I can't understand how it works. I have run chkdsk /r on that drive, and about 4 hours in it was at 1% (phase 1,2 and 3 were done in a few minutes, but phase 4 took hours to get from 0). I don't seem to easily find a tool to copy that one file (and maybe others later), preferably freeware of course.

If I try to resume (using TeraCopy, great tool by the way) it hangs again and disconnects. At the moment I want to copy some video files, but I'm not able to because the drive hangs while copying a certain file, and disconnects. It's a 1 TB Fujitsu Siemens case with a Western Digital hard drive inside.Įventually I will backup the whole drive with some backup/imaging software, but I don't have the free space to do that. I have an external hard drive that is starting to fail it has some bad sectors.
